Why does Modern Warfare 3 keep making my PS3 freeze?

Well, it all started about 1 week ago. On occasion when I'm playing MW3 multiplayer online it sometimes freezes and I can't access the XMB or the shutdown menu. This "glitch" only seems to occur when i play MW3 online. I have tested Battlefield, Black Ops, MW2, and Gran Turismo 5. I am worried about my PlayStation. I've checked around in forums and other "Yahoo! answers" questions and received mixed answers. Some say that the servers are just really packed and others are saying that my PS3's Blu-ray diode is screwed up... Does anyone have answers, I don't want to have to buy a new PS3.

It could be overheating.
How much saved data do you have taking up your drive? You may want to delete data off, and it just may be the servers, mine does the exact same thing and all my PSN stuff and MW1 work. I also agree with you on 360, PS3 is better. :DWhy does Modern Warfare 3 keep making my PS3 freeze?
This happened to me it started of as just mw3 and then it happened to all of my other games. ONLY do what i'm about to say if it starts to happen to all games on solo and online.To start of with i contacted activision and they said said that the disk is broken and i should ring customer support to get a new one as it is under warranty. Before i rung activision i tested some other games and they frooze aswell so i rung playstation and they said do a full system restore. (Before doing this i backed up my game data with a usb flash drive). Then i did the sytem restore and the games still frooze so i called playstation and they said we will pick it up my ps3 and send me a new one. (of-course this only happens if your ps3 is under warranty)

So to conclude
ring activision to see if you can get a new disk if no other games freezes
ring playstation if all your games freeze
i might just be the survers

I know the exact problem, go to MW3, go to vault in main menu, go to theather, turn off recording, and voila your game won't freeze anymore, i had same problem, and sought it out myself, every online game records if u dont turn it off, and thats why it freezes its too much untill a patch comes out.
