As Rod said, the only place that mentions exactly how much superman can lift is the All Star Superman series. Anything else does not give a number to work with, so it's just a guess.
But in that same book, superman had a lethal dose of solar radiation that made him three times stronger. Given that his strength is really dependent on his exposure to yellow sun rays, he could move the earth much more easily if he flew through the sun first. Is superman strong enough to lift a planet the size of the earth?Depends on which version of Superman. The Current Superman in Comics can't, he struggled to move 1/3 of the Earth, he needed Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman to help him move the Earth. Even at that point he was struggling. The Silver Age Superman could easily do it, he was moving dozens of Planets with ridiculous ease. The late Golden Age Superman could. All Star Superman was pushing at 200 Quintillion tons, which is 1/30 of the Earth.
So really it depends on which version of Superman. Some can, some can't.
The ones that can: Silver Age Superman and late Golden Age Superman.
But the normal, current Superman in Comics can't lift the Earth, or a Planet at the size of it.Is superman strong enough to lift a planet the size of the earth?
According to the All Star Superman series of comic books, superman can lift about 66.6 quintillion tons.
The Earth weighs about 67000 quintillion tons, so not even close.
However: The amount of force it takes to move an object out of orbit by 1% is about 1000 times less than the weight of the object. So theoretically, superman has just barely enough strength to move the earth out of it's orbit. Is superman strong enough to lift a planet the size of the earth?Depends on the circumstances, and what continuity we're talking about. Silver-Age Superman was powerful enough to travel backwards through time; moving a planet is a titanic effort, but not beyond what Silver-Age Superman would be capable of. He actually once moved several at the same time:

Obviously, Superman is an imaginary construct, so can't actually move anything - this is based on the canon of Superman, though.
technically, unless he was extremely big, he would have to be inside the gravitational radius of the earth to lift it. which means he's standing on it
which means he has to stand on his hands and fly downwards
but lift it from what? theres no up or down in spaceIs superman strong enough to lift a planet the size of the earth?no, because superman would have to get out of earth and be in space which superman is unable to do because he cannot breathe in space ;DIs superman strong enough to lift a planet the size of the earth?
silver age superman could, easily
I have a trophy at home that have superman lifting earth.. So yes, it's possible. Is superman strong enough to lift a planet the size of the earth?
