Why does zod hate humans in the superman movies, comics and in smallville?

I noticed that zod and the other kryptonians look at the humans in disgust why do they hate humans, when yet they look just like humans?Why does zod hate humans in the superman movies, comics and in smallville?they really don't, but Zod was a maniac long before earth, he was banished for trying to overthrow his home planet. With the powers at his command as a kryptonian on earth he has the power to take over and remake the world in his image, it's less about looking down on human and more about raising himself above the rest. He's really your basic comic book villain out for global domination.
