Imagine a Superman/Doomsday live action movie with the seriousness of The Dark Knight?

a rehashing of the superman franchise similar in tone to Batman begins only with a plausible scientific explanation of Supermans powers and a limit on his strength and speed...this could lead to an amazing Superman/Doomsday sequel...could it not?Imagine a Superman/Doomsday live action movie with the seriousness of The Dark Knight? There have been plans off and on for this movie for 15 years.

Soon after the comics came out word of a movie surfaced. Nicholas Cage was the original pick for the role of Superman (based on his looks from Con Air)

It went through a dozen directors, a dozen scripts.

Then word came why

Too big a story line to make into a reasonably timed movie.

A few years ago they made a semi movie based on it that was animated.

The only way they could do the Doomsday story is a trilogy:

1st movie. Doomsday attacks Metropolis and faces Superman and the other super heroes. This would end with Superman's death and the biggest casting call in hollywood history, the funeral. (originally planed as the biggest casting call ever)

2nd movie. Time has passed and 4 beings claim to be the reborn superman: Superboy, Man of Steel, the last Kryptonian, and the cyborg. 2nd movie should show their early battles.

3rd movie. Cyborg has begun his attack (havent read it in a long time so dont remember every detail). Sometime before the final battle we see the emergence of the true Superman.
