When SUPERMAN leaves the earths atmosphere, does he have to reach escape Velocity to escape the earths gravity?

or does he have some sort of power that removes inertia. When SUPERMAN leaves the earths atmosphere, does he have to reach escape Velocity to escape the earths gravity? It depends who is making the film if it was Fox studios they would have S.E.A.L team 5 with him. When SUPERMAN leaves the earths atmosphere, does he have to reach escape Velocity to escape the earths gravity?
No.

Inertia has nothing to do with it.

Superman's power to fly is continuous.

The whole idea of "escape velocity" is based on the fact that we cannot create a rocket motor that will run continuously.

If one accelerates to "escape velocity", which is about 25,000 miles per hour, and then you turn off your rocket motor, you are now traveling fast enough to escape the gravity of the earth without additional power. When SUPERMAN leaves the earths atmosphere, does he have to reach escape Velocity to escape the earths gravity? He has to accelerate to escape velocity. The only thing that's not clear is how the force for the acceleration is generated. He has inertia because in the comic books and TV shows and movies he's always being thrown into stuff that breaks when he hits it.When SUPERMAN leaves the earths atmosphere, does he have to reach escape Velocity to escape the earths gravity?
No he does not. Superman has an unlimited "supply of fuel" which he can use to travel anywhere because of the effect of the yellow sun. He could simply fly upwards at any speed he chooses and simply not stop. I thought you were going to ask something hard like does he have to hold his breath in outter space. When SUPERMAN leaves the earths atmosphere, does he have to reach escape Velocity to escape the earths gravity? No the yellow suns rays act differently on him because he's physiologically different since he's from krypton. Gravity doesn't affect him the same way it does on us.When SUPERMAN leaves the earths atmosphere, does he have to reach escape Velocity to escape the earths gravity?
He defies the laws of physics on a daily basis. He's Superman, he can do anything without further need of elaboration.
I imagine he uses internal methane projection to fart rocket his way up...or something.

What an odd question.
