Why do people like superheroes besides superman?

He is the ultimate in superhero, he can do anything and everything that other heroes can't. Take batman for example, all he does is dress up like a bat and punch people. The flash can only use one of supermans powers. Ironman doesn't even have super powers. What about spiderman, all he does is shoot crap out of his wrists, ooooh scary; you can shoot silk. Hope he doesn't knit me a new shirt.Why do people like superheroes besides superman?That's about it, Superman is almost god-like. It is unlikely for him to find any real challenge whether against an opponent or live itself. Other "weaker" superheroes have flaws in them which makes them human and is easier for the fans to relate themselves to. It is also more interesting on how a hero get by these challenges humanely which makes them more interesting than those god-like superheroes. plus there's Supe's attitude especially towards violence. With his powers he can't really let himself go, while other heroes have no qualms in maiming their opponents, just like most of us really wanted to do...Why do people like superheroes besides superman?
Flash's speed allows him to do a hell of a lot more than just run fast. Out of character, he would destroy Superman in a fight. Let's see what an out of character fight between Flash and Superman would look like. Flash steals all of Superman's speed, rendering him motionless, and uses his infinite mass punch which has the force of a white dwarf star, ending Superman. Or he vibrates his hand threw Superman's head and scrambles his brains. Spider-man doesn't shoot silk out of his wrists, he shoots specially made "web fluid" out of webshooters he wears on his wrists. His powers include super strength, speed, and basic regeneration and precognitive abilities.

Powers are hardly the most interesting part of a superhero anyways. It's the person beneath the mask, their conflicts and problems that make them interesting. The powers and action are a bonus.Why do people like superheroes besides superman?Why do people like ANY character in fiction? Really, it's not all about the powers. Not everyone is a Boy Scout, valedictorian, model citizen who is just plain perfect in every way and "above it all" to boot. Some of us have problems, some of us aren't perfect and we like to root for and relate to fictional "people like us".



See, at the end of the day, fiction is an escape from reality. Sure, it's an artform too, but for many readers it's about meeting new people and being in new situations that the real world just doesn't offer.



And in comic books, being a superhero isn't just a brute-force power fantasy. It's a flight of fancy about what you DO with the power. Sure, Superman saves lives, but he has to hold back so much, so often that when it does come time to actually throw down (read: against Doomsday), he can be a bit of a pansy sometimes. A bit passive-aggressive. So he doesn't do a lot of the things readers and fans would LIKE to see him do.



And by that standard, Son Goku in DBZ is so much worse. He's a fighter, not a Hero. He doesn't save lives or indeed, do a whole lot of anything that's relevant to the human race.



So that's the appeal, really: Other characters have more in common with your typical, ordinary reader, and the other heroes get to Do Stuff that you never see your Superman/Goku types even talk about doing. It makes for a more interesting narrative.

There are a lot more interesting superheroes than Superman. Batman can do more than just dress up like a bat and punch people. The Flash can do a lot more than be a mini-Superman. Iron Man is awesome. And Spider-Man can do more than just web sling. Spider-Man is fantastic, why would you even say that...? Really?



Batman, to a degree isn't even a superhero. Well...he is but you know what I'm saying. He is much more of a detective or a spy. Not to mention, the dude is as tough as a stone wall. Perhaps read some more about him to see why he is who he is? Hm?



As for Iron Man, he does have traits that make him a superhero. Obviously. Plus, he's a hell of a lot more interesting than Superman with his glasses and gay hair. In fact, everybody in this post you mentioned is more interesting than Superman. I'm not even going to get into Spider-Man...that dude brings being able to relate to a whole new level. How many people can relate to an alien Mr. Perfect like Superman? Nobody. How many people can say they're a struggling to get by teenager in New York City asking politely for a job? MANY.



Characters like Batman, Flash, Iron Man, and Spider-Man have aged better than Superman. So.......how exactly is he the ultimate superhero?

And Spider-Man can do a lot more than shoot webs from his wrists. He has super-human strength, agility, spider-sense, etc.

There's a lot more behind Batman than you think there is. Maybe read a comic and figure out why he acts the way he does? Last time I checked, Batman was a detective. Do you even know WHY he dresses up like a Bat?

You said that Iron Man didn't have superpowers, but the suit does grant him "super" like powers. Flight, strength, shooting missiles, and he's incredibly smart.

Because Superman's boring. At least other superheroes have flaws, which make them more interesting to read about.
first off superheroes arent real so chill out besides alot of people would like batman cause he is human with no powers but can still save poeple with his cool gadgets, cars, etc.

WOAH DUDE YOU JUST INULTED MY IDOL THE FLASH ok heres the thing there are many different versions of the flash theres the first yet pretty useless jay garrick who can run at near lightspeed then barry allen the creator of the living being know as the speed force he can run afater tha light then wally west who can run as fast as he can imagine and bart allen he was born int the future and sent back in time but heres the thing The Flash has superspeed uncompared (besides of course the other flashes) The Flash can run faster than superman like take supermans top speed multiply it by 3 and you get The Flashes Speed also the flash can fly when he spins his body around to make tornados he also uses this to make strong whirlwinds ith his hand also he can vibrate his molecules through solid objects which superman cant due the flash can also timetravel by running so fast he breaks thrugh the time barrier he also has acelerated healing due to his super metabolism he also can run longer than superman thats righ the mighty superman and his so called unlimited stamina is fake everyone hashis breaking point the flash can run the universe a few times and be tuckered out and a few more times until hes exhausted superman gets tired easier than that also as i mentioned before the flash ha access to The Speed Force the embodiement of speed making them faster than fast and that fast is superman also with mastery of the speed force you can create soid light constructs think green lantern but no ringno recarge time and hella fast i could type more probably 11 more paragraphs about how awesome flash is but heres the thing you have to understand superma is great but he is one aspect of a million other comic characters anyway batman can beat superman been done before
