How is Brandon Routh in the "Superman reboot"?

I mean I love Brandon Routh as Superman but it doesn't make sense that they doing a reboot with the same actor. I think I'll be better with a sequel. They might even still make a sequel I guess since Brandon Routh is still in it.How is Brandon Routh in the "Superman reboot"?They may be replacing Brandon Routh for Tom Welling, but it has not been confirmed. But if they were to place Tom Welling for the next movie, chances are that the movie maybe connected to Smallville or in some way!!
