Both excercise humility by taking on low-paying jobs (photography and public high school teaching for Spider-Man, Newspaper columns and Articles, and eventually authorship of best-sellers for Superman) rather than use their powers for absolute fame. They also don't see themselves above the law, or morality, despite their amazing powers (especially in the case of Superman). Their stories both show people who went a long way by exerting good character, vs. the current trend of Anti-Hero that goes around nowadays.
