well I have been having trouble playing an online game (BattleField 3) and alot of forums suggested that turning of my UPnP on my Thompson modem/router will fix my issue but i do not know alot about this and it has something to do with finding wireless stuff like printers etc
So i use a desktop in my room and i am currently using my Belkin Play wireless USB adapter to connect online and im worried that if i disable my UPnP that it would not find my wireless usb or reject it in some way i dont know and i would greatly appreciate if i could get a lil help and thank you for readingWill disabling off my UPnP affect my wireless USB adapter?
UPnP = Universal Plug and Play. It is a technology in your router that allows applications to setup their own ports through your router. Disabling it will prevent applications (including virus apps) from opening ports on your router. You can still open ports on your router but you will have to do it manually if you shut down UPnP.
Turning off UPnP is a recommended security measure that the majority of us don't do.
